Step by Step
Apply Online (Recommended)
Visit the official Tanzania Immigration e-visa portal and complete the application form with your travel dates, passport scan and a digital photo.
Pay the Visa Fee
Pay by credit/debit card directly on the portal. Keep the payment receipt — you'll need it for any follow-up.
Wait for Approval
Processing typically takes 3–10 working days. You'll receive an email with your e-visa as a PDF — print 2 copies before flying.
Arrive in Tanzania
Show your printed e-visa and passport at immigration. You can also pay at the airport (visa on arrival) but expect 30–60 min queues.
3–10 working days
Apply at least 3 weeks before travel for peace of mind. The portal is open 24/7 and you'll receive a PDF visa by email once approved.

All international airports accept visa on arrival. Bring USD cash in clean, post-2009 notes. Expect 30–60 minute queues at peak times.
